Emma Watson left Brown because of Bullying

Emma Watson didn’t get the royal treatment in Brown. Apparently, students tormented her by quoting Harry Potter. According to The Insider, her classmates would say “Three points for Gryffindor” every time she gets an answer right. Emma’s party denies the bullying but we can’t deny bullying does exist.

It’s just so sad. Maybe the efforts to improve the school system should start by disciplining the student and find a way to stop bullying in school. Who would study well and participate in school if they will get tormented every time they express a hint of intelligence.

Just a suggestion, rank everyone by their ability to learn. I’m not saying rank by intelligence because a slow learner can still be intelligent; it just takes time to learn new things. Grouping students based on their ability to learn will avoid smart kids to be bored while the slow ones get frustrated and end up quitting. Also, frustrated kids won’t have to resort to bullying to hide their insecurities.

I won’t pretend this will solve everything but at least it can be the start.

Anger Management

Where I come from, people yell a lot. People raise voices and sound angry even if they are not. But very rarely do people pound things. I have seen a few of my relatives punch the wall or slam their fist on the desk. However, violence has always been our last resort. It’s either punch something, hit someone or explode. Nobody wants the last two. Most of the time punching a wall or a desk gets the point across. A punched wall or slammed desk is usually followed by silence, an apology and reconciliation. I have never seen an actual fist fight. Though I think I’ve been on one.

Long story short, a classmate asked if I want to spar. I said yes but before we could even start, the teacher came in so we went back to our seats. I won’t count that one because nobody got hurt. The year before that I kicked a guy in the nuts but it was just for fun and the guys gave me a very heartfelt don’t-ever-do-that-again-plead. They guilt me out of hitting someone in the nuts again. It was pointed out that the guy might even lose his ability to procreate. We were 10. My childhood was fun.

Jersey Shore’s JWOWW stabbed her ex-boyfriend.

This made me laugh simply because the guy is buffed. What happened? If he couldn't defend himself from Jenni “JWOWW” Farley, then he proved to everybody Guido muscles are just for show. All they can do with their fists is pump. I'm not saying hit a girl back. You can use the muscles to avoid the blade from going through. Flex! Guidettes rule!

Tom Lippolis got stabbed by a gorgeous girl. He must have been a very very bad boy.

Survivor's Boston Rob

Robert Carlo Mariano also known as Boston Rob has been on several reality shows since he joined Survivor:Marquesas. He has all what it requires to Outwit, Outplay, Outlast but never managed to (unless you count that time Amber won or if he wins this season). On an interview, Jeff Probst said that if there is someone who can beat Boston Rob in a puzzle challenge, it will be Yul Kwon, “Yul is an amazing player. An incredibly boring interview but a great player!

Yul Kwon won Survivor: Cook Islands in 2006. He is probably the most successful of all the players outside of Survivor. He is now the Deputy Chief of the Consumer and Governmental Affairs Bureau for the Federal Communications Commission (FCC).

Wouldn’t it be phenomenal if Boston Rob, the most cunning player of Survivor battles Yul Kwon, the most respected player of Survivor on a challenge? I just hope the challenge won’t have anything to do with spelling. Boston Rob and Amber lost the Amazing Race because he couldn’t spell “Philippines”. That just wouldn’t be fair.

I love them both. I hope I get to see these guys face-off.

I have a feeling Boston Rob will win this time. (That’ll be perfect for the promotional tour of the Tontine Massacre movie.)

The Next Big Thing

I watched The Ellen DeGeneres Show today and saw this amazing 15-year old singer Jackson Guthy. Ellen DeGeneres showed Jackson’s book of songs he wrote since he was, well, younger than 15.

He was asked if he ever thought of joining American Idol because he has a really great voice. I like his answer. He was very honest yet diplomatic. He said he loves American Idol but he believes singing is all about doing what you love and not competing with other people. He voiced out his opinion without judgment nor being offensive.

Big Machine's Scott Borchetta made a similar statement when he defended Taylor Swift's shaky performance in the 2010 Grammy's. He offended Kelly Clarkson when he said "This is not American Idol. This is not a competition of getting up and seeing who can sing the highest note. This is about a true artist and writer and communicator. It’s not about that technically perfect performance." Kelly Clarkson then responded through her blog that "we not only hit the high notes, you forgot to mention we generally hit the ‘right’ notes as well." Witty responses but both are too defensive for my taste. I love Taylor Swift and I like Kelly Clarkson songs. But I am willing to give Jackson Guthy a chance. He hits both the right and high notes. He writes his own stuff. He handles interviews well. Best of all, he's CUTE!

I am risking my life for writing this, but I’ll do it anyway. Move over Justin Bieber, it’s time for a new Teen Sensation. We’ll still love you though. Say hi to Selena Gomez for me. I love her too.

Political Dynasty

I used to be against political dynasties. After hearing Buluan Vice Mayor Ishmael "Toto" Mangudadatu’s stance on Political Dynasties in the Philippines, I reconsidered. He said, Dynasties are for Families who simply appoints relatives to positions. The Philippines is still a Democratic country. As long as the people get to choose who will serve them, it doesn’t matter if the officials are from the same family. I was impressed.

Then, an Ampatuan government official made the same statement.

Lesson learned: I am gullible.

AJ Perez Passes Away Today.

April 17, 2011 Sunday

ASAP Rocks started their show with a tribute to AJ Perez. Gary Valenciano sang a song for AJ Perez with the entire cast of ASAP Rocks in white. AJ Perez passed away from a car accident earlier this day. He was travelling from Dagupan where he made an appearance at the Kapamilya Karavan for the Bangus Festival with Matt Evans and Zaijian Jaranilla.

2010 Star Magic catalogue says AJ Perez was The One Who Is Next In Line. He was also mentioned to be the next Rico Yan.

Google Translate

I am sick and tired of having to translate every single page to English. It is a good idea to have websites in every language but can someone teach me how to set the language of my browser to English. That's the language I am comfortable with when browsing. "Isumite" is not something I use in everyday life. "Submit" baka pa!
